Personality.
eddie brock generally means well and has the best of intentions when it comes to most things. on the surface, he's curious, empathetic, and he's dedicated to getting to solving problems in order to help those in need. his compassionate heart is ultimately what convinced venom not to destroy humanity, because of all the good that can be found within.
all that being said, he's also got a dark, self-serving side. he's 'complicated'. case in point: now that he's stuck with venom, eddie is aware that he needs to look out for himself and his alien above all. because of this sense of self-preservation, eddie's list of crimes now includes but is not limited to:
since this is a romcom series, most of these are played for laughs, but there are numerous moments throughout where eddie acknowledges that he's a 'bad' person. he tends to see these moments as 'desperate times' where he had no choice, and he rarely takes joy in his acts of villainy.
beyond his legal problems, eddie also has a tendency to lie egregiously when it comes to keeping himself out of trouble, which he's not great at.
he's often played as the 'straight man' within his duo. where venom enjoys singing, dancing, and wanton violence, eddie is often outwardly annoyed by these displays.
additionally, while he often comes across as a silly, bumbling idiot, eddie is [somehow] a world-renown journalist. as seen from his conversations with venom throughout the series, he has a strong knowledge of things like philosophy, the legal system, culture, and spirituality.

i'm a shipping fiend, ngl. for canon, i like everyone eddie has ever come across in these trashy movies (venom, annie, teddy, christmas, mulligan, that one grumpy army guy, i'll ever take cletus' crazy ass).on memes, gimme EVERYONE. eddie is pretty easy to get along with if you share similar ideals, and he's got a big heart, so shipping isn't too hard. 25+ ideally, anything lower and eddie will start feeling weird/bad about it [but i'm here for it if you want a more angsty thread].
m/f and m/m both are loved. he's canonically not great at relationships, so my kingdom for a nice, long-term, stop-start, messy sort of shipping. i like them intense, toxic, and doomed, but we can do fluffy stuff, too!

STRENGTHS: super-strength, self-healing, photographic memory, immortality, good at tailing people, good at writing.
WEAKNESSES: weak to fire, weak to loud, high-pitched noises, reliant on human heads and/or chocolate, bad at relationships, bad at apologizing for wrongdoing.
VIOLENCE: more threats than actual fighting threads, preferably. venom is all about threatening to bite people's heads off and leave their bodies in a pile in the corner of the room, but that's pretty hyperbolic.
